POSITION SUMMARY: To facilitate a flexible in-person foreign language program using a computer-based language learning platform selected by our schools. The teacher will create a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, establish effective rapport with pupils, motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for a strong foundation, and maintain good relationships with parents and staff members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Facilitates language learning using the approved computer-based platform.
- Provides in-person guidance and support to students as they progress through the digital curriculum.
- Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction to meet individual needs.
- Communicates regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior for an effective learning atmosphere.
- Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
- Identifies pupil needs, makes appropriate referrals, and develops strategies for individual education plans.
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
- Supervises classroom activities, students, and volunteers.
- Creates an engaging learning environment through functional and attractive displays and exhibits of student work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: Supervises classroom and students.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate in any subject area or grade level
- Proficiency in using educational technology and computer-based learning platforms
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Familiarity with second language acquisition principles
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The teacher may occasionally need to lift up to 50 pounds. The position requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in a classroom setting with moderate noise levels. The teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe learning environment for students.
